Caution: random thought overload ahead! Someone has OD'd on caffeine today.
Over the weekend I somehow managed to get sucked into an infomercial for classic country love songs and it brought back all kinds of warm and fuzzies from being small and thinking Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton singing "Islands in the Stream" was really just about as good as it gets. Ever since Sunday, I have not been able to get enough of the "Classic Country" station on Pandora.
Then, I found that "Designing Women" is back on TV on the TV Land channel. Did you ever watch this show? Was seeing Julia Sugarbaker go off on one of her righteous rants your favorite part too? Remember Bernice?
I am on a seriously nostalgic 80's trip folks. Excuse me while I adjust my side ponytail.
Before I get into my favorites from the latest West Elm catalog - did you know that you can get my blog posts sent automatically to your inbox? Well, it's true! Each time I publish a new post, a copy of it will be sent right to you for your immediate viewing pleasure. All you have to do is enter your email address in the "Follow Me" button over on the right side of this blog. I promise your email address will not be sold, shared or used for anything other than getting new posts.
Once you subscribe, make sure to add me to your "Safe List". Otherwise the posts will be lost in your junk folder, somewhere between "Hot Asian Girls" and "Your Invitation to AARP". (Yes, I get both of these in my junk email and No, I have no idea why.)
Have you checked out the latest West Elm catalog? I think they consistently do a really nice job of mixing interesting patterns and textures while still keeping things neutral enough to appeal to the mass market. Although lately, they seem to be really obsessed with owls. Maybe we're obsessed with owls and they're just wise enough to be making money off of it. Wise like an owl.
I need these mercury glass pendants and the white lacquer table lamp is definitely on my list.
The "Bliss Collection" of upholstery looks outrageously comfy. This chaise has really pretty lines:
I'm undecided on this rocker. On one hand, I love how different it is from your typical rocking chair. Who doesn't love a fresh take on an old standby? It's undeniably cute. On the other hand, it looks a little unsteady. Like, one good rock and it'll dump you and baby right out on your faces.
The chevron craze continues in shower curtain form. Love it. I also need that tub.
And finally, the cutest measuring cups on planet Earth. Just try to resist them. It can't be done. I'm predicting they'll be on backorder any day now.
Have a great day everyone! I'm going to go heat up my crimper now.
