Obsessed: Emerald Green

Did you have a good Thanksgiving?  We sure did.  Ours was really nice and very low-key.  The turkey (my first ever) turned out really delicious - not dry at all, yay!  And there was gravy...oh sweet mama, the gravy.  It was epic.  No joke.

Ridiculously good gravy is all about making your own stock from the neck and giblets.  It was so easy and undeniably the best thing about the entire dinner.  If you're curious, I used this recipe.

So now that Thanksgiving is over, I guess we're supposed to gear up towards Christmas?  Ugh, I can't even deal.  I love everything about it (except the shopping and guilt) but only for about a week before the actual freaking holiday.

I especially love all the green - emerald green that is.  If it happens to be velvet, all the better in my book!

Well now Scarlet, that's all well and good but I actually a little something more like this in mind:

These sofas are so pretty, super sophisticated yet completely nap-able!

Where there is velvet, there is often tufting and me likey!

If an entire sofa is too much emerald velvet-ness for you, perhaps just an accent chair or two is more your speed?

Or in pillows and window treatments:

I'm also loving emerald green when used in fashion:

Obsessed: All Things Cozy

There are so many things to love about this time of year.  The chilly weather, hot chocolate with homemade whipped cream, curling up next to a crackling fire and seeing the first Christmas lights of the season.

I also love that the temps are finally low enough to break out all the soft and cozy clothes that spend 9 months of the year in storage.

I want to crawl inside and live in this photo - it looks SO cozy!

These scarves look super soft and I love them in these colors:

Cashmere, wool and alpaca - handwoven scarves, sweaters and hats.  Oh the hats!  Few things make me happier than finding a really cute hat.

Whilst cozying up next to that roaring fire, wouldn't you love some really soft, sweater-looking pillows all around?  Of course you would, it's only natural!

You can always try making your own sweater pillow.  This tutorial from Brassy Apple will show you how to turn one of your favorite sweaters into a beautiful pillow.

Your obsession with cozy knits doesn't have to end there.  Bring it into the bedroom with uber-luxurious, handwoven alpaca blankets from Layla Grace.

Is it "Cozy Overload" to put on a cashmere sweater, wool socks and hat, then climb into a big bed made up with a dozen or so knit pillows and pull a handwoven alpaca blanket over myself to drink hot chocolate and watch Christmas movies all weekend?

I'll let you know.

P.S. I want these too:

Jam and bread optional.
