Is it just me or is this week flying by? I've been keeping myself busy with several projects around the house and it seems like before I know it, my head is hitting the pillow again. Unfortunately the projects are more of the organizing and finally tackling my piles of paper and other randomness type. What I'm really yearning for is a fun project. Like oh, doing something...anything with our powder room.
Powder rooms are like little jewelry boxes to me and mine could really use some glamorous touches to make it shine. The small size allows for a bit of a splurge on materials since less is required. I'm thinking if ever a room in my home were ripe for wallpaper, it's the powder room.
This is usually the part in the blog where the designer shows you the uninspired "before" shot but I can't bring myself to do it. The last thing I want to do is induce yawning amongst my readers! Suffice it to say it is builder grade pedestal sink and a bare-bulbs fixture above an unframed mirror (yes, with the little, plastic "clippies" and all!). We haven't even painted the walls in our 5-1/2 years here. Can you say "procrastinator"??
This is the design direction I have in mind:
Grasscloth has long been on my list of "gotta have it" materials. In a perfect world, I'd install it floor to ceiling but since the powder room is where we keep the dog's water bowls, tile wainscoting would be more practical.
Some images that are inspiring me today:
Hmm..after viewing all of that gorgeous wallpaper I'm having second thoughts about my original scheme. I think an extra dose of glamour is in order.
Ahhhh, now THIS is more like it!
On another note, I finally finished my ottoman slipcover today. It's cute but the pictures will definitely leave no doubt that I'm still a sewing newbie! haha! I'll post the pictures tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone!
