Is it just me or does this season of Design Star contain even more "suck" than all the previous seasons combined? Where do they find these people? Aren't there any talented designers out there trying to get on this show anymore? If so, why aren't any of them making it to the final cut? I have to wonder if these fools are completely lacking in any ability at all or if the pressure of being on television just sucks all the talent out of them.
Every time one of the hosts refers to the group of contestants as "the best and brightest", wine spews right out of my nose. What the hell? Are they watching the same show the rest of us are? The only upside to them being on the show is the comfort in knowing they're not out there amongst the rest of humanity, inflicting their orange walls and framed scraps of wallpaper on actual paying customers. For me, it's become completely unwatchable. And that makes me sad. How did a show that gave us the adorable & talented Emily Henderson get to this point:
Cabbage candle-holders folks. I shit you not.
It's enough to send one spiraling into a deep depression. So I focus instead on what makes me happy. Yes booze, but also the following (I have layers people - many, many layers!)
Grasscloth wallpaper with studs by Phillip Jeffries
This even-more-stunning-in-person, bronzed tree trunk cocktail table by Century.
One sexy secretary by Thomas O'Brien for Hickory Chair.
DVR - so I can re-watch episodes of MDD and delight in Mary's emotional depth.
Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in Crazy, Stupid, Love. Absolutely charming! I want them to be dating in real life.
Have a great week!
