Friday Feature: Imbibing & Inspiring

As promised, it's a tequila-free Friday at Sarah Elizabeth Design! (At least where this post is concerned)  I'm heading up to bum around the artsy town of Jerome tomorrow for a birthday trip with the boyfriend and I cannot wait to be somewhere that feels more like fall than Phoenix does right now.  92 degrees?  In November?  Seriously???

I don't know what I'm more excited about, touring the wineries and boutiques or finally having a reason to wear a scarf and hat. I hear it'll be a near frigid 67 degrees in Jerome tomorrow.  Brrrrr!

Naturally, this got me thinking today's cocktail should be something warm and comforting.  Something you'd want to sip in the company of a crackling fireplace.  Did you know Hot Buttered Rum was an actual drink and not just a candy?

I stumbled onto this recipe for it while searching for Hot Toddy, my original cocktail idea for today but then HBR came along with its spicy, rummy, buttery goodness and suddenly it was "Hot Toddy who?".  Warm rum, brown sugar, butter, nutmeg, cinnamon and whipped cream?  Yes please!

And now, here are some appropriately cozy, fall-inspired rooms in which to enjoy your Hot Buttered Rum:

I'm loving the contrast of the exposed brick with all the other feminine details

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and get out to enjoy the fall weather wherever you are.  Come back Monday for updates on my guestroom headboard project!
